DOCKET NO. 50-364 ALABAMA POWER COMPANY NOTICE OF ISSUANCE OF AMENDMENT TO FACILITY LICENSE NPF-8 The U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Coranission (the Commission) has issued Amendment No. 2 to Facility License No. NPF-8 issued to Alabama Power Company (the licensee), which added Technical Specification 7.1 to Facility License NPF-8 for operation of the Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant, Unit No. 2 (the facility) located in Houston County, Alabama.

The amendment is effective as of the date of issuance.

The amendment grants relief from certain requirements in the Technical Specifications to permit the conduct of augmented low power tests.

The application for the amenc' ment complies with the standards and require-ments of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended (the Act), and the Conruission's rules and regulations.

The Conunission has made appropriate findings as required by the Act and the Commission's rules and regulations in 10 CFR Chapter I, which are set forth in the license amendment.

The activity authorized by the amendment is encompassed by the overall action involving the proposed issuance of an op uating license for which prior public notice was issued in the Federal Register on October 30, 1973 (38 FR 29907).

The Commission has determined that the issuance of this amendment will not i

result in any environmental impacts other than those evaluated in the Final i

Environmental Statement since the activity authorized by the amendment is encorpassed by the overall action evaluated in the Final Environmental Statement.
