Virgil C. Summer Nuclear Station Docket No. 50/395 Potential Substantial Safety Hasard Interim Report
Dear Mr. O'Reilly:
On January 6, 1981, Mr. Bob McFarland of NRC Region II was notified of a potential substantial safety hazard on the subject: Cracked HFA Relay Coil Spools. The report was made by Mr. J. A. Wactor.
We were advised of the possibility of the cracked spools by letter from General Electric. They stated that they had notified the NRC of the problem. We are presently inspecting HFA relays in the plant to see if we have any of the spoola in question. We expect to complcte this inspection by March 6, 1981.
