PRAIRIE ISLAND NUCLEAR GENERATING PLANT Docket Nos. 50-282 and 50-306 Further response to IE Bulletin No. 80-24 was requested by the Senior Resident Inspector. The information below is added to Items 2. c. and

3. ,
2. c. It is highly unlikely that all detection systems or all removal systems would become inoperable during power operation. However, should either of those events occur, an evaluation to determine whether safe operation could continue beyond seven days will be made.
3. The Component Cooling Water System (a closed system) supplies cooling water to reactor coolant pumps and excess letdown heat exchangers. Ihere has been no history of leakage from the Component Cooling Water System to containment.
