" Failures of Solenoid Valves Manuf actured by Valcor Engineering Corporation" NRC Ddeket Nos. 50-373/374, 50-454/455, 50-456/457 Reference (a):

J. G. Keppler letter to C. Reed dated November 14, 1980.

Dear Mr. Keppler:

The subject bulletin transmitted by Reference (a) has been revieweo by Commonwealth Edison for applicability to our units under cons t ru ction.

The review indicates that no Valcor solenoid valves having part numbers V70900-21-1 or V70900-21-3 are in use, or planned for use, in the safety related systems at LaSalle County Station.

This was verified by negative responses from the valve manufacturers identified in the bulletin which have supplied equipment for LaSalle County Station.

The manuf acturers involved were Anchor-Darling and Copes Vulcan.

The remaining recipients listed in the bulletin have.not supplied equipment to LaSalle.

Concerning Byron and Braidwood Stations, our review indicates that the af fected valves have been supplied to these stations through An chor-Darling.

A report addressing this matter will be submitted by February 12, 1981, as required by the bulletin.

Approximately 30 man-hours were expended in conduct of tne review and preparation of this repart.
