Arkansas Nuclear One-Units 1 & 2 Docket Nos. 50-313 & 50-368 License Nos. DPR-51 & NPF-6 Status Report on Nuclear Training Program (File: 0232,2-0232)

Gentlemen:

In my letter to you of August 13, 1980, I outlined the actions that AP&L had taken and was planning to take to improve our nuclear training. pro-gram.

I also indicated that I would inform you in writing of any unfore-seen circumstances that could affect target dates specified in that letter.

One of the steps involved in improving our nuclear training progran$ was a Position Task Analysis (PTA) Program which would form the basis for an effective training program as well as validating that training.

In my August 13, 1980 letter, I indicated that the PTA program interviews were complete for all positions at ANO and would be complete for all~ General Office personnel with nuclear responsibilities by September 30, 1980.

In reviewing that commitment, we believe that we should provide some clarification as to the intent of our plans for Position Task Analysis of General Office personnel.

It was our intent to interview the General Office personnel in positions with nuclear responsibilities. Interviews of personnel in the positions shown in Attachment I were completed by September 30, 1980, as planned. The positions involved were primarily director and manager level positions with direct responsibilities for providing support to ANO.

Mr. K. V. Seyfrit November 19, 1980 We have decided to expand our Position Task Analyses to include add-itional General Office positions with nuclear support responsibilities and to reanalyze certain positions created or modified as a result of recent organizational changes.

These additional positions are ident-ified in Attachnent 2, and '.ne Ecsition Task Analyses will be complete by January 1, 1981.

We are continuing our management commitment to these programs and hope that this letter clarifies our intent.

If you have any questions on this matter, please advise.

Very truly yours A
