ORDER GRANTING STAY OF PROCEEDING (December 8, 1980)

The State of Illinois has requested that further proceed-ings in this matter be stayed until thirty days after the effec-tive date of new Part 72 of the Commission's rules.

The Staff concurs in this request.

Since Part 72 will be the controlling part of the Commission's rules for this proceeding in the future, rather than the old Part 70 previously in effect, it appears appropriate that addi-l tional time be granted for filing of amended contentions, replies thereto, and for any further discovery which,=ay be approp.riate 1

.s The Applicant has also proposed a new schedule for resump-tion of proceeding which appears to the Board to be appropriate.

All parties agree to this proposed new schedule.,

-2 4 Accordingly, it is ordered that the following schedule will centrol future proceedings in this =acter:

1.

January 12, 1981 -- date by which General Electric will submit its revisions to the Consolidated Safety Analysis Report and any other submissions required under 10 CFR Part 72; 2.

February 26, 1981 -- date by'which all of the earties will submit any proposed amend =ents to contentions

'and motions for leave 'fo'r additional discovery, which the parties believe are justified by promulgation of 10 CFR Part 72; 3.

March 19, 1981 -- date by which any other party may respond to any proposed amendments to contentions and any =ocion for leave for additional discovery, which are filed by the other parties.

In view of this new schedule of proceeding, the Applicant's motions for sanctions against intervenors are denied at this time.
