QUALITY ASSURANCE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE INSTALLATION, INSPECTION AND TESTING 0F STRUCTURAL CONCRETE AT THE SOUTH TEXAS PROJECT (STP)
By letter of October 31, 1980, Houston Lighting and Power (HL&P) transmitted its
" Revised Quality Assurance Program Descriptions and Response to NRC questions."
Contained in this document (pages 52-54) is HL&P's commitment to meeting quality assurance requirements for the installation, inspection and testing of structural concrete. With the exceptions noted in note 1 beginning on page 53 of the document HL&P connits itself to conplying with ANSI N.45.2.5-1974, " Supplementary Quality Assurance Requirements for Installation, Inspection and Testing of Structural Concrete and Structural Steel During the Construction Phase of Nuclear Power Plants."
The staff has reviewed this connitment concerning concrete placement by HL&P and finds it satisfactory for continuation of construction at the STP.
Formal staff approval of the entire QA program will be documented, as appropriate, after canplete review of the October 31, 1980, submittal from HL&P.
