Dear Ms. Thomas:
I am responding to your August 30, 1989 letter requesting a list of documents that are available on low-level radioactive waste management and requesting that you be placed on a distribution list for documents dealing with nuclear issues.
I have enclosed a-list of technical documents that NRC has generated.
Most are no longer available from the Government Printing Office (GP0), but are available at cost from the National Technical Information Service (NTIS).-
The enclosed brochure, entitled " Citizen's Guide to U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Information" describes how to buy documents from GPO and NTIS.
I have also enclosed brochures and a copy of a speech dealing with low-level waste disposal and regulations that I think you will find useful. For low-level waste issues pertinent to New York State, we suggest you contact one L
or all of the enclosed list of'your state officials.'
l Regarding your request to be put on a document distribution list, the
" Citizen's Guide" describes how your organization can get on various mailing lists. Of particular interest to you, please review Section 3, Rules and Regulations; Section 5, Generic Letters, Bulletins, and Information Notices; and Section 10, News Releases and Speeches. This guide also describes access to information provided by the Public Document Room in Washington, D.C. as well as Local Public Document Rooms and Depository Libraries.
