Dear Mr. Denton:

In as much as the Pennsylvania Power & Light Company is constructing the Susquehanna Nuclear Power Plant in Salem Township, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, anything concerning nuclear power plants is of prime concern to our Township.

At a necent meeting of the Salem Township Supervisors, it was unanimously agreed to support Pennsylvania House Bill flok6, establishing a five mile residency requirement for employees of a nuclear electronic power generating station. Citing the safety factor, it was felt such a requirement would be of the utmost importance in case of an emergency, and also be a positive contributing factor to an employee's performance on the job.

We have notified Pennsylvania State Senator Frank J. O'Connell and Pennsylvania State Representative Geo go C. Hasay of our support for this bill.

Very truly youre, SALEM TOWNSHIP SUPERVISORS A
