The Council of the City of Cincinnati, State of Ohio, at its session on June 10,1981, passed a resolution entitled:

RESOLUTION NO. R/83-1981 i Expressing the sense of council that if the Nuclear Regulatory

WEPIAS, Canada's Chalk River Nuclear Laboratory in western Ontaric preposes to shortly ship a lead of nuclear fuel to Georgia for reprocessing over a route that could include Interstate I-75 through C.incinnati; and WIPIAS, regulntiens under the Ea:ardous Yateritis Transporta-tion Act provide that Unless there is no practicable a.iternative, a =otor carrier which contains hazardous =aterials pust te operated I over rcutes which do not go through ce near heavily pcpulated

WEPJAS, the Chio-Kentucky-Indiana Regicnal Ccuncil of Govern-

=ents has, in a March, 1981 Truck Oiversion Study, fcund much heavier pcpulation densities alcng :-70 taan along -275, specifically signi-ficant cceentraticns of 10,000 ind over per squa. 7 =ile and 5,000 to 9,999 along I-75 as coep eed with =azi=u: cenev Aeratiens of 1,000 to 4,999 on parts of I-275; and WEREAS, the Nuclear Regulatory Cc==issicn O.*RC) will deter =ine the routing for tr.e shi;=ent frc= Chalk River; and WEPIAS, the requf re=ent for an ar=ed esecrt through Cincinnati
