Superior Industrial X-Ray Co. (71-0439) 1(a)^The. scope of the QA program aludes to Type P packages. Whereas this11s true'in tne broad sense, the applicable QA criteria addressed restricts the program to certain special fom radioactive material, and in particular, industrial radiographic devices.
Revise your QA program in this paragraph and throughout description to reflect applicability to radiographic devices.

1(a) Substitute the name of your. company in place of " Company."
1(b) Provide an organizational chart identifying individuals (by title) responsible for defining and implementing the QA~ program.
1(b)' Identify individual (s) responsible for training, certification, auditing and ensuring QA records are maintained.
2(b). State that the QA program will amphasize control of characteristics of the package critical to safety.
2(c) Expand this paragraph to identify the means for ensuring yourself and NRC the packaga was designed and built under control of an NRC approved QA program.
3(a) Expand this paragraph to include a comitment that all quality-related activities (e.g., inspecting, testing, purchasing, etc.)
will be controlled by written procedures and instructions approved -
by management.
3(b) Expand this paragraph to state that RSO will ensure quality related activities will be conducted with latest applicable drawings, instructions, and procedures.
5(c) Add paragrapn by identifying the means (e.g., labels, tags, log entry, etc.) for indicating the operating status for ~ test, inspection, and maintenance.
6.
Expand list of QA records to be controlled by QA program to include, nonconformance reports, audit reports, and corrective action reports.
7(a) Provide a statement that audits will be performed according -to pre-determined checklists and frequency of audit to be based on relative significan,ce of activity.
7(b) Expand naragraph to comment that results of audits will be reported to management for evaluation and quick resolutions of quality problems.
7(c) Add paragraph to state audit team will have no responsibility in the activity being audited.
