RFM LA10RY GUIDE 1.97 (8/1977), (12/1980, REVISIO1 2), INSTRGtEtEA-TIO3 rVR LIGE-WATER-CMFh NG7 PAR POWER PIRES 'IO ASSESS PIllE (I)N-DITIONS CURING IRD FOIJOWTNG AN ACCIDEtR As a result of the post 'IMI concerns delineated in NUREG-0737, the post accident ronitoring instrumentation provided for Fermi 2 has been extensively nodified.
New channels of instrumentation have been added as described in NUROG-0737 Items II.B.3, II.D.3, II.F.1-1, II.F.1-2, and II.F.1-3.
A number of existing instrument channels have been nodified to meet new functional requirements specified in NUREG-0737 Items II.F.1-1, II.F.1-4, II.F.1-5, and II.D.3.3.
The subject of instrumentation for the determination of inadequate core cooling is being actively pursued by the BWR Owners Group, which is developing an industry position on the application of Regulatory Guide 1.97, Revision 2.
Edison is actively participating in the BWR Owners Group in de.veloping an industry response to nore adequately address the subject of post accident instrumentation for BWR designs.
As a result of the fairly conprehensive additions and modifications to the Fermi 2 post accident monitoring system required by NUREG-0737, the nodified system is in close agreement with the regulatory position established by this regulatory guide. Edison is ommitted to provide a post accident instrumentation system which meets the intent of Revision 2 of Regulatory Guide 1.97.
