Dear Maury:
Enclosed for your information is a report of our investigation of the Isotope Measutements Laboratory of Northbrook, IL.
The investigation determined that the licensee had engaged in the unauthorized distribution of radiopharmaceuticals and that some empic,yees falsified a client's daily dose calibrator constancy check log. Based on the investigation, the NRC has proposed a
$5,700 civil penalty against them and has issued a Show Cause Order why their byproduct license should net be suspended.
Also enclosed is a News Announcement 81-42 which provides further background information. Please call me if you would like to discuss this issue.
