On April 16, 1981, the board anncunced it could not Erncr furder requests for oral limited appearance statenets beycnd the srall nurber of requests then pending, in part because this phase of the evidentiarf hearing was cccing to an end. We are taking an exceptica in ycur case, if a tire can be arranged while w are still in sessicn. This is because very early in the preceeding, in denying ycur,petitien to intericne because ycu failed to set forth an acceptable cententien, we noted that ycu were in a positien to make a centributien to this proceeding with respect to ycur cencerns. In additien, there was scce early ccnfsien as to whether ycur initial two filings in August and October,1979, were re-quests to make a li=ited appearance statement. First Special Prehearing Ccaference Order,10 NRC 828, 850-52 (Deceber 18, 1979). We have also noted ycur attendance at the hearings during the litigatien of issues related to your cencerns.
For the above reascas, we believe ycu ro-be in a positicn to provide useful informacien to the board and we lock to:eard to your statement if an agreeable tire can be arranged..
