. On May 1, the unit was operating at approximatet.y 98% reactor power and ex-periencing difficulty maintaining main condenser delta temperature. Power -

was reduced to 50% on May 7, for a condenser backwash and investigation of the condenser scavaging system. 'rhe unit was returned to approximately 98%

output.

From May 7 to May 17, output continued to de5U Nb=~- of f pioblems with ~ f. .

On May 17th af ter repaira had been made to the scavaging system, the hypochlorination system repaired and placed in service, and PM's performed on the temperature monitoring system, the unit was again backwashed and returned to 100%. "'he unit continued u operate at 100% for the remainder of the month.

6. The fuel, which had been loaded during the 1980 scheduled refueling outage, is of tne new P8x8R design, consisting of approximately 64 P8DRB282 assemblies and 120 P8DRB265 assemblies.
7. (a) There are 580 fuel assemblies in the core.

(b) There are 764 fuel assemblies in the spent fuel pool.

8. (a) The station is presently licensed to store 2320 spent fuel assemblies.

"1te actual spent fuel storage capacity is 1770 fuel assemblies at present.

(b) The planned spent fuel storage capacity is 2320 fuel assemb_ies.

9. With present spent fuel in storage, the spent fuel pool now has the capacity to accommodate an additional 1006 fuel assemblies.
