Dear Mr. Eisenhut:
In the above referenced letter, we committed to a phased im-plementation schedule of meteorological equipment that would meet the requirements of flUREG-0554.
At that time, we stated that we had experienced equipment delivery problems and that our schedule was based on " newly established" delivery dates.
Since that time, some of our suppliers have continually delayed their shipping schedule to us by two week intervals, Please see Attachment A for a resume of our equip.nent deliv-ery problems, and Attachment B for a resuae of installation status.
Given the equipment delays that we have experienced and the fact that the ten (10) meter tower is operational and providing data to the flational '4eather Service, we would in-tend to operate as follows:
1.
Continue utilizing the existing weather instrumen-tation mounted on the reactor building as our pri-mary source of neterological information.

We presently have an agreement with the National Weather Service (NWS) to obtain meteorological data on an as need basis.
We will utilize the NUS in-femation from the ten (10) meter tower as our back up source.
To ensure the availability of this in-formation monthly checks will be made with the NWS for the ten (10) meter tower information.
3.
As soon as practicable after the completion of the ten (10) meter tower data systems and replacement of the existing instrumentation on the reactor bu-ilding, we will establMh the program as outlined in P-81070, Attachment I, Items 8a, 8b, and 8c.
4.
The DCM as forwarded with P-81070 is presently :n effect as a part of our emergency procedures.
At this point, we feel that the only schedule that we can commit to and place credibility in, is one that does not rely on equipment shipping schedules.
We can and will com-mit to installing our meteorological equipment within 30 days of its receipt.
We hope that you recognize these delays are beyond our con-trol and that we are continuing in our efforts to expedite deliveries and install equipment.
