Dear Sir:
s Three Mile Island Nuclear Station','(Unit 2 (TMI-2)
Operating License No. DPR'?% _
Docket No. 50-320 Submerged Demineralizer System on May 5, 1981 we submitted to your our analysis of water inleakage into a spent SDS vessel. That letter (LL2-81-Oll8) contained the following error:
" Steam entering the vent header is prohibited from depositing on the offgas HEPA filters by virtue cf its passage through the offgas separator where condensatis n of the vapor occurs."
Vent gas flow does not pass through the offgas separator but is, instead, tied in to the high rad filter enclosure ventilation line.
Condensation would occur in the lot.g vont line that is cooled by the water contained in the spent fuel pool. This condensed water will flow back into the zeolite vessels. Furthermore, should any moisture exist at the inlet to the HEPA filter bank, the presence sf a process flow stream heater will vaporize any moisture that may exist.
Should you have any questions or comments regarding this matter, please contact Mr. L. J. Lehman, Jr. cf my staff.
Sincerely, b'
G. K. Hovey Vice-President and Director, TMI-2 j
