Dear Mr. Grier:

N NRC IE BULLETIN NO. 80-16 POTENTIAL MISAPPLICATION OF ROSEMOUNT, INC.

MODELS 1151 AND 1152 PRESSURE TRANSMITTERS WITH EITHER "A" OR "D" OUTPUT CODES NO. 1 AND 2 UNITS HOPE CREEK GENERATING STATION PSE&G has provided interim responses to the IE Bulletin No. 80-16 dated June 27, 1980 on August 27, November 14 and December 23, 1980. This is a final response to the bulletin.

It now has been determined that the only supplier of the subject Rosemount, Inc. pressure transmitters is General Electric.

General Electric, upon completing its investigation, has informed Bechtel Power Corporation, our Architect Engineer, of the plan to remedy the situation by replacing the T;pe A and D circuit boards with the Type E circuit boards in the pressure transmitters.

The new circuit boards will not have the problems of an ambigu-ous signal output when the pressure is outside the normal operating range. The replacement (recall) date is scheduled during 1982.

Should an additional information be desired, we will be pleased-to discuss it with you.

Very truly yours, CC Office of Inspection & Enforcement Div. of Reactor Construction Inspection Washington, DC 8104150h6
