INTERVENORS' MOTION TO EXTEND TIME TO RESPOND TO INTERROGATORIES AND ADMISSIONS OF LICENSEE AND STAFF Pursuant to 10 C.F.R.

section 2.730, Intervenors Friends of the Earth and Congressman Dellums hereby move the Presiding Officer to issue a Protective Order allowing Inter-venors Friends of the Earth and Congressman Dellums an addi-tional seven (7) days, up to and including April 10, 1981, in which to respond to the interrogatories and admissions pro-pounded to Intervenors by the Licensee and Staff.

Intervenors have no objections to the form or con-tents of the discovery requests of Licensee and Staff, but because of the numbers of admissions and interrogatories and the difficulty Intervenors have in coordinating their experts to verify the truth or falsity of the information requested, it will be impossible for Intervenors to comply with the provisionc of 10 C.F.R. section 2.742(b) and 10 C.F.R.

section 2.740(b) by April 3, 1981.

N-AFFIDAVIT OF GLENN W.

CADY IN SUPPORT OF MOTION FOR PROTECTIVE ORDER I, Glenn W. Cady, declare that I am the attorney for Intervenor Friends of the Earth and that I am familiar with the issues involved in this matter.

I make this declaration in support of Intervenor's motion to extend time to respond to the interrogatories and admissions of the Licensee anc Staff propounded to Intervenor on March 18, 1981.

Because of the location and unavailability of Intervenor's experts in this proceeding, it is virtually

~

impossible for Intervenor to adequately respond to these dis-covery requests by April 3, 1981.

Intervenor has no objec-tion to the substance or form of the requests, but because of the numbers of admissions and technical information that

/

/

g.

,b 6e is required for Intervenor to respond, it will be impossible for Intervenor to meet the April 3, 1981 deadline imposed by the Commission.

I declare under penalty of perjury that the fore-going is true and correct and of my own personal knowledge.

. Respectfully submitted, b
