On March 27, 1981, additional clarification was requested by Mr Paulson concerning power sources for maintaining hot shutdown. This letter responds to that request.

Although it was not explicitly stated in our submittal, the modifications planned will insure the plant's ability to maintain a hot shutdown condition for at least 72 hours8.333333e-4 days <br />0.02 hours <br />1.190476e-4 weeks <br />2.7396e-5 months <br />, with or without offsite power, following a fire in any of the defined fire areas. This is consistent with performance goals three and four of Section III.L. of Appendix R.
