CONGRESSIONAL TOUR

4' Congressman Morris Udall, Chainnan of the Hogse In ps ar Affairs Committee and several other congressmen, along with congression Tbmbers, who are members of the Energy and Environmental Subcomittee, will be touring selected areas of TMI-l and THI-2 today.
The purpose of the tour is to assess the status of both units in which licensee and NRC briefings will be conducted.
The noted subcomittee in which Congress Udall is also chairman is expected to conduct hearings on a bill related to federal fundings of the TMI-2 cleanup.
Media interest has occurred because of public sensitivity to TMI related events.
A press conference is scheduled for later this af ternoon by the licensee. The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has been informed. The NRC does not plan to issue a press release at this time.
This preliminary notification is issued for infonnation only and no further action od gka by the NRC is anticipated.
