N This refers to the special inspection ccnducted by Mr. Wm. D. Kelley of this office on Octeter 23-24, 1980, of ycur facility at Windsor, Ccnneticut asscciated with the manuf acture of steam turbines and reduction gears and to the discussion of cur findings with you and memcers of ycur staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
This special inspection was mace to confirm that, in the areas inspected, ycur
. QA Program is being effectively implemented.
Also to ascertain whether the cause, corrective action and generic imcact of a potential construction defi-ciency reported by HL&P South Texas Project, involving equipment supplied by ycur ccmpany, have been evaluated and apprcoriately dispositicned in a manner consistent with the requirements of the NRC regulations.
Areas examined during the inspecticn and our findings are discussed in the enclosed report. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of an examination of representative records, intertiews with personnel, and cbservations by the
-inspector.
Within the scope of this inspection, we found no instance where you failed to meet NRC requirements.
In accordance with Section 2.790 of the Ccmmissicn's " Rules of Practice,"
Part 2, Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, a cecy of this. letter tcgether with t% enclosed inspection recort will be placed in the Ccmission's ?ublic Docur.& Room.
If this report contains any informaticn that you believe to be prcprietary, it is necessary that you make a written application within thirty (30) days to this office to withhold such information frcm public disclosure.
