Atomic Safety and Licensing Board on March 5, 1981 at 7:00 p.m.
at the William Penn Museum.
Unfortunately, I can not attend that meeting, but I would like you to know of my view regarding TMI's Unit 1.

I am very much in favor of restarting Unit 1, and although I believe it is beyond the scope of your meeting, I am also in favor of cleaning Unit 2 and getting it back into operation.
e It is my belief that Met Ed as well as.the entire atomic electric utilities community has learned many valuable lessons from the 3
accident at TMI; as result of these lessons I believe that atomic o,
facilities will be operated with a much greater awareness of the need for improved safety conscience.
I believe that atomic power is basically safe, clean, and very necessary to our national 3
best interest.
Additionally, I know that the absence of TMI as s
a operating entity is costing Lebanon Packaging Corporation (as a
well as all Met Ed customers) substantial additional expenses which we can not recapture because of the competitive nature of our business.
In other words, our competitors are not getting E
their energy from Met Ed, therefore, they do not have the same g
up-charges we have.
