Dear Mr. Abbotts:
This letter is sent to acknowledge receipt of your petition of January 2, 1981, requesting that the fluclear Regulatory Commission order licensees to show cause why their operating licenses and/or construction pennits should not be revoked on the basis that such licensees have allegedly not demonstrated their financial ability to pay the costs of serious nuclear plant accidents of a type similar to that which occurred at Three Mile Island. Your petition has been referred to me for action.
Your petition is being treated under 10 CFR 2.206 of the Cocinission's regulations, and accordingly appropriate action will be taken on your petition within a reasonable time.
