My letter to L. S. Rubenstein dated June 11, 1980, identified a fire prote ;ian modifloation for the Essential Raw Cooling Water System (ERCW) at Sequoyah Nuclear Plant that would not be complete until June 30, 1981.
Since the ERCW is mquired for two-unit operation and unit 2 fuel loading is scheduled for April 15, 1981, TVA proposes to provide the following during the period from initial criticality of unit 2 until the ERCW modifications are complete.
(1) A continuous fire watch in the area of the ZRCW junction box on elevation 690.0 of the auxiliary building (2) A roving fim watch in the area of the conduits which exit the top of the junction box, pass through floor elevation 714.0, and terminate on floor elevat, ion 734.0 We believe these actions provide adequate justification for the interim operation of unit 2.
