This letter pro-vides the requested response.
I.
Palisades The only.IT:' Grinnell snubbers at Palisades are the sixteen stes: generator hy-draulic shock and svay suppressors with eight suppressors on each generator.
The Palisades stes: generator Grinnell snubbers are not the snubbers referenced in IE Circular No 76-05 which is shown by the following infor:ation:

Our Figure 200 snubbers have 8" piston diameters while the series of snubbers in question only inclurie 1-1/2" diaseter through 6" diameter units.
2.
The origin of the probler. vas traced to a Grinnell design change of Noves-ber 1971 while the Palisades snubbers were purchased in 1968.
3 The Palisades snubbers valve blocks vere special order cnd are not believed to be adjustable as the proble snubbers have adjustable orifice control.
Big Rock Point No hydraulic shock and sway suppressors of the type described in IE Circular No 76-05 are installed at the Big Rock Point Plant.
