8.3 - RAW FUEL STORAGE ROOM supersades Rev. 1 (3/8/77) 8.3.3 Fuel material in the portion of the room to the south of the fuel storage shelves shall be controlled under Criticality Indicator values and transport index relationships given in TID 7016 Rev. 2, pages 88 - 94 as modified below:
Cell dimension to provide a surface separation of units of not less than 6.1", (155 m).
Unit to be subcritical submerged.
Unit to be centered in the cell or container volume to within 10% of the smallest dimension of the cell.
Min. Criticality Indicator Value per unit = 1.0 Criticality Indicator Aggregata Limit = 20.0 Fuel material in this area shall be separated from fuel in the raw fuel storage shelves by a distance not less than the smallest dimension of the facing surfaces of the arrays.

Work and storage operations shall be evaluated and approved in accordance with provisions of Part I, Chapt. 2 and including dual review by qualified personnel.
- Allowable values and assigned values have been selected to incorporate significantly increased safety factors over those in TID 7016, Rev. 2 as allowance for interspersed materials in shipping containers and to additionally limit quantity of units.
