Dear Mr. Keppler:

Co,nmonwealth Edison has reviewed the subject builetin and has determined that none of the affected valves have been installed 4

or maintained as spares for use on safety related systems at Dresoen, Quad Cities or LaSalle stations.

j Investigation at Zion Station indicated that none of the l

valves are installed in Zion Units 1 or 2, but one spare valve of the Westinghouse fMD 4-inch type is maintained as a spare.

This j

valve has been pl6ced in the QA hold area and will not be used unless it is qualified for its intended service.

To the best of my knowledge and belief the statements contained herein are true and correct.

In some respects these statements are not based on my personal knowledge but upon information furnished by other Commonwalth Edison employees.

Such information has been revicwed in accordance with Company practice l

and I believe it to be reliable.
