1. ORGANI~2.ATION a)

The Company pursuant to 10 CFR 71 is responsible for a Q.A. program for Type B quantity shipments and trans-portation of radioactive material. Fabrication and design of Type B packages are not included.

b)

Orgeaization Structure or R.S.O.

1.

The Company President is respcnsible for administJation of program.

2.

Radiographers are responsible for handling storage and I

transporting radioactive packages in accordance with the procedures under 2.3.4 of the Company's Operating Procedures in a company vehicle.

3.

The Chief Radiographer will be responsible for radio-active material shipment by a common carrier.

2. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROGRAM a)

Radiographers are trained in their responsibilities ac-cording to the Company's Operating and Emergency Broce-dures,Section II, Rev. 2, 2.3.4.

b)

The Q.A. proger_m will be viable, requiring management approval and the. program encompasses specific require-ments stated in the package approval for use, and general radiation safety and shipping requirements.

i c)

Manufacturers certifications have been requested and maintained on all N.R.C. Type B packages.

3. DOCUMENT CONTROL a)

Packap ng, shipping inspection and handling instructions from the manufacturers will be maintained for each package.

The RSO shall insure that the shipment and transportation of Type B packages is conducted in accordance with the above documents.

4. HANDLING, SHIPPING, TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE a)

Radiography personnel will handle, ship, transport and store radioactive packages in accordance with the procedures in the Company's Radioactive Material Manual.

b)

Radiography personnel will determine the completeness of package inspections and presence of manufacturer's certi-ficate before shipment.

5. INSPECTIONS, SURVEYS AND MAINTENANCE REPORTS i

a)

Inspections, surveys and maintenance reports on Type B packages will be made in accordance with the Company's Radioactive Material Manual.

b)

Quarterly inspection and maintenance of Type B packages will be performed by RSO as outlined in the Company's Radioactive Material Manual.

6. QUALITY ASSURANCE RECORD a)

Utilization logs, shipment records, package surveys, and quarterly inspection records will be maintained as speci-fled in the Company's R adioactive Material Manual.

b)

Training records are maintained in accordance with the Company's Radioactive Material Manual.

c)

Equipment and packaging, procedures and instructions are maintained by the Radiation Safety' Officer.

7. AUCITS

~

a)

Quarterly audits of the entire radiation safety program is performed in accordance with the Company's Radioactive Material Manual.

b)

The quarterly audits include the necessary checks on the Q.A.

program as outlined in the Company's Radioactive Material Manual.
