Subject:
Detroit Edison Response to NRC IE Bulletin 80-21 As discussed in the Company's letter of April 2, 1981, the final report of the Campany's analysis of the potential valve castings material problem described in the subject bulletin cannot be submitted to your office at this time due to the delay caused by the General Electric Company's investigation of safety-related valve vendors.
This delay requires the Company to request an extension of the reporting date. A final response will be sent to your office by June 12, 1981.
Detroit Edison Project Engineering will continue to keep the review pro-gressing. Should you require additional information from Detroit Edison in this matter, please advise us.
Ver-ul your hl l l
