Reference (a) requested additional information concerning our previous requests for an exemption from certain Appendix J requirements for automatic isolation valves at Dresden 1.
Our review of Reference (a) indicates that substantial effort would be required to satisfy your request.
In view of the projected length of the current Dresden 1 outage (startup 1986), we prefer to defer our response until future needs and requirements are better defined.
We therefore request that your review be placed on a hold status at this time.
We plan to address the request of Reference (a) when license amendments required for startup are submitted.
Please address any questions concerning this matter to this office.
