SUMMARY
OF MEETING ON GE0 LOGY & SEISM 0 LOGY On February 19, 1981, the NRC staff met with the applicant and their consultants in Bethesda, Maryland to discuss geology and seismology. A list of attendees is enclosed.
The staff and applicant discussed questions which will be asked as round two requests for information. The seismology reviewer questioned their method of translating an offshore earthquake to an acceleration value. Also, he expressed concern that they do not appear to comply with Reg. Guide 160.
We may require the applicant to submit site specific response spectra. The applicant's position is that they comply with this requirement. The staff will review their supporting documentation.
The geologist asked the applicant to update the text and figures in Section 2.5.
He also stated that we require a map showing faults with a 5 mile radius of the site. Other information needs were identified, and will be formally requested by the staff shortly. A meeting was arranged for March 6, in which the applicant will present certain information for staff review.
