The renewal of License SNM-778 was issued oa July 21, 1980, in response to your December 21, 1978 application. A total renewal fee of $30,330 was paid for review of the request as follows:

$30,330 In accordance with fee Category IF and Footnotes 1(c) and 4 of the enclnsed 10 CFR 170, we have reviewed the manpower expenditures required for the review l
of the subject application for renewal and the actual review cost is $33,763.
I Since the maximum renewal fee has been paid for fee Category IF, no additional fee is required.
l Because the byproduct material authorized by License SNM-778 is to be used for l
research and development purposes only, the correct fee category for the byproduct material should have been 3K ($150) instead of 3A ($460).
Consequently, we have notified the NRC Office of the Controller to refund $310 to your Company.
