My letter to you dated February 10, 1981, transmitted a proposed change to Sequoyah Nuclear Plant unit 1 Technical Specification 3.6.1.9 regarding containment purge time restrictions.

In order to further assist in your long ters review efforts, TVA will submit a report on the operating experience of the unit 1 purge / vent valves before startup following the first refueling outage of unit 1.

This report will denonstrate the reliability and operability of the valves and provide justificatien for additional purge time that may be required.
