We REF: Letter from Mr. F. L. Clayton, Jr. to Mr. A. T. Schwencer dated July 17, 1980 JOSEPH M. FARLEY NUCLEAR PLANT - UNITS 1 & 2 CONTROL ROOM DESIGN REVIEW Gentlemen:
In the above referenced letter, Alabama Power Company committed to perform a confirmatory sound survey to verify that the control room noise level is at an acceptable level. On January 7, 1981 Alabama Power Company performed these confirmatory sound level measurements in the Unit 1 & 2 control rooms and verified that the noise level in the control room is acceptable.
The base sound level was found to be 58-60 dBA which is in agreement with measurements taken November 23, 1980, after air handling system modifications were completed. Alarm levels were measured and where required, were adjusted to be approximately 8 dBA above the control room base level.
It is the opinion of Alabama Power Company that the control room noise and alarm levels are acceptable and that no further action is required.
