This refers to your February 18, 1981 request (MWK:81-15) for a route approval involving the shipment of spent fuel from Monticello, Minnesota, to Pleasanton, California.
We have determined that the review of licensee route approval requests is subject to the Commission's license fee schedule in 10 CFR 170.
For materials licenses, fees *or the review of route approval requests will be assessed under Category 13 of Section 170.31, as special projects.
In accordance with Footnote 8 of Section 170.31, the charge for the review would be determined by the Commission based on the professional man-power required to conduct the review.
In determining the fee to be charged, only actual staff time expended in t e review of the route request is used to calculate the fee; the route (field) survey conducted by the NRC staff is excluded from fee computation.
When the review has been completed, we will notify you of the fee due.
