Occurrence Date: Approximately July 1975 - classified A0 on September 12, 1975 3
Facility: Big Rock Point Plant h.
Identification of Occurrence: Unauthorized addition to emergency a-c power Panel 8L.
5 Conditions Prior to Occurrence: Power Operation 6.
Description of Occurrence: During installation of the site physical security system, security system electrical equipment was connected to emergency power Panel 8L without proper review and authorization.
7 Designation of Apparent Cause of Occurrence: Failure of administrative controls.

Analysis of Occurrence: The load added is a maximum of 1.25 kVA compared to a total output of 250 kVA for the emergency diesel generator and does not compromise the safety-related performance of other equipment con-nected to this emergency source.
9 Corrective Action: A portion of this load has been removed from the emergency power Panel 8L and the portion proposed to be left permanently on this panel vill be reviewed for proper design considerations.
