Arkansas Nuclear One - Unit 2 Docket No. 50-368 License No. NPF-6 Bird Impaction Studies (File: 2-1510)

Gentlemen:

The Arkansas Nuclear One Unit - 2 Technical Specifications, Appendix "B", Section 4.1, requires Arkansas Power & Light to carry out an environmental monitoring program to detect and report large scale episodic occurrences of bird impaction events on the cooling tower structure. This program was to begin following the issuance of the AN0-2 operating license and to continue for two years. ANO-2 was issued it's operating license in July of 1978.

Therefore, this letter is to infonn you that we have fulfilled our commitment on this item and no further action will be taken.

The results of this program were submitted to the NRC in the 1978 and 1979 Annual Environmental Operation Reports.

The data obtained tc this point in 1980 will be submitted in the 1980 Annual Environmental Operating Report.
