Nuclear Diagnostic Laboratories, Dallas, Texas
SUBJECT:
Allegation re Distribution of Unapproved Radiophamaceuticals Personnel of the State Agreements Program, OSP were notified by the State of Texas on September 16, 1960 that the State has begun an investigation based on infomation supplied by an anonymous telephone caller. The caller alleges that employees of the licensee are praparing radiophamaceuticals from unapproved materials and that patients are administered double and triple the prescribed doses in order to speed up imaging times. The anonymous caller also alleges that similar practices are tacurring at the licem.ee's customer sites in Oklahoma and Chicago, Illinois.
ban on infomatica previously supplied by this caller and substantiated by Texas and A.9ansas (S% Non-Routine Event No. 80-29 dated 8/22/80) both States have initiated cen tated enforcement action against the licensee.
The State of Texas has issued a show cause order for a hearing on the revocation of this license. The hearing is scheduled for October 14, 1980. The licensee continues to operate until the hearing. The State will inform OSp of the results of their investigation of the present allegations.
No media interest has developed thus far.
