LOW-ENRICHED URANIUM FOR KUD SHENG UNITS 1 AND 2 IN TAIWAN (SECY-80-317) j (XSNM-1564) (COMMISSIONER ACTION ITEM)

This is to advise you that the Commissioners have reviewed l

the subject license ~to Westinghouse Corporation.

The Commission (with all Commissioners approving) has accepted your recommendation to export to Taiwan-140,000 kilograms of uranium, enriched to 4% U-235, in the form of uranium oxide in fabricated fuel 4

bundles.

Commissioner Gilinsky stated that his approval was subject to a facility attachment being negotiated with IAEA for the reactors to be fueled.-

The Offic.e of International Programs was informed of this 1

action by telephone on August 22, 1980.
