i-l Enclosure DMD-471 Lic. No. SNM-1265 i
Morrir Operation Compressed Air System Compressed air is used for several purposes throughout the plant:
in j
strumentation, air lifts of liquids, purge air, and breathing air for l
personnel working in contaminated areas. There are two identical 75 horsepower electrically-criven air compressors located in the Emer-l gency Equipment Building. Each can deliver 375 cubic feet of air per minute at 100 psig to a 126 cubic foot receiver which is also in the Emergency Equipment Building.
Process air from the 125 cubic foot receiver is distributed where needed throughout the plant.
Inst' ment air is supplied frcm the receiver to drying equipment in the Emergency Equipment Building from which it is delivered to an instru-ment air receiver in the Main Building. This air is used for instru-ments, air operated valves and breathing air. Two portable air com-pressor-receiver units are also atailable for breathing air in work areas where airborne contaminat'on 'may be present, but where the in-i j
strument air system is not available or insufficient. The instrument j
air / breathing air system is served preferentially upon loss of com-pressor air supplies to'the main receiver; low pressure in the main l
l
. receiver automatically valves off the process air system.
