This letter is to request a change in the approved route from Portsmouth, Virginia to USDOE Savannah River Facility, Aiken, South Carolina to facilitate bypassing ti e urban area of Fayetteville, North Carolina.
The old route followed route I-95 past Fayetteville.
It is our understanding that NRC personnel have already l
l traversed an alternate route consisting of leaving I-95 at Dunn, North Carolina on U.S.
421, following U.S.
421 to iia rrells, North Carolina and then using N.C.
41 to Lumberton to rejoin I-95.
1 We request that this route receive fermal approval and l
that the following route also be given consideration for l
approval:
Leave I-95 at Dunn on U.S.
421, follow U.S.
44 to l
Clinton, switch to U.S.
701 at Clinton, meet N.C.
41 at White l
Lake and follow N.C.
41 to Lumberton to rejoin I-95.
