Reference (a) transmitted a revised Dresden 1 ECCS Design Report to the l
NRC Staff. As a result of the staff's review, we received a request for additional i
information (Reference (b)). Our partial response (Reference (c)) stated that l
Exxon Nuclear Company would perform "ECCS Perfonnance" calculations.
This l
transmittal provides the completed analysis. Reference (d) contained a "Large l
Break Example Problem".
It was submitted so the staff could review and approve the method and technique that would be used in the Appendix K calculations.
We decided to go ahead and perform the calculations, even though the staff never responded to the requert made in April, 1979.
l The etelosed report, entitled "ECCS Evaluation of Dresden - 1 Using the l
Exxon Nuclear Company WREM - Based Non-Jet Pump Evaluation.Model", XN-NF-79-95 (NP), Revision 1 fulfills the previous commitments.
The break spectrum results identify the location, size and configuration of the worst break in the Dresden 1 reactor system in conformance to the requirements of 10CFR50 Appendix K and the l
criteria specified in 10CFR50.46.
