SUPPLEMENTAL RE3PONSE As stated in your letter dated September 11, 1980, to H. G. Parris regarding Confirmation of Action for OIE Bulletin 80-17, J. R.
Calhoun committed TVA, in a September 10, 1980, telephone conversation, to install the General Electric (GE) ultrasonic system for water level indication. Based on conversations with R. C. Lewis and H. C. Dance of your staff, it is our understanding that the GE ultrasonic system meets the NRC criteria for scram discharge water level indication and the requirements of OIE Bulletin 80-17.
However, based on receiving the material from GE by December 5, 1980, we expect to complete the installation on Browns Ferry units 1, 2, and 3 by December 22, 1980.
