The purpose of this letter is to address your observation on September 9,1980 that an error is contained in the " Risk Analysis of Postulated Plutonium -
Releases from the Exxon Nuclear Mixed 0xide Fuel Plant as a Result of High Wind and Earthquakes." Your claim is true and the defect is corrected on the enclosed page that should be substituted for the first page of the subject risk analysic.
For the Lxxon Nuclear M0FP the environmental consequence, in terms of radiation dose, caused by natural phenomena are presented in PNL-3315, which was sent to-you on September 12, 1980. The estimated doses reported in PNL-3315 were calcuiated for the population within an 80 km radius of the plant and for the nearest residence downwind of the plant. The report considers the nearest l
residence, located 3300 meters SE of the plant.
Since the risk analysis used the results of PNL-3315 as input, no " redo" of dose calculatinn is necessary t
to correct for the effects of the mistake.
