The Appendix 8 Environmental Technical Specification describes the Benthos monitoring requirements for the Donald C 4.1.2.1.1.3 Nuclear Plart.
. Cook We have reviewed the past Annual Environmental Operating Reports for the Donald C. Cook Nuclear Plant and deter-mined that Corbicula sp.
are not and were never pres (Asiatic Clam) and Flytilus sp.(Mussel) in the vicinity of the plant.ent in the source and receiving water by our consultants at the University of Michigan, and they haveT concluded that these organisms do not exis't in the Lake Michigan Basin.
Mytilus will not be a problem due to the fact that this organism is marine and the Donald C. Cook Plant utilizes fresh water as its source and receiving water body.

The fire protection system at D. C. Cook Plant is t Paragraph F for detection of flow blo'ckage.
no flow blockage problems have existed due +o biofouling. Testing indicate circulating water condenser water boxes are v.sually inspected at The least annually for debris.
