On May 4, 1981, Mr. Virgil Brownlee of NRC Region II was notified of a substantial safety hazard under 10CFR21 concerning pinch?d wires in Square D l
Company's motor control center. An earlier letter to James P. O'Reilly con-cerning this item was dated March 10, 19Fl.
This interim letter serves as the 30-day report. The final report will
-follaw when the item is closei. We project this may take 2 to 3 months.
2 Square D Company has recomended a solutien to the pinched wire problem.
SCE',G's Architect / Engineers are working on evaluating the design and they are mat.ing recommendations for the required Engineering Change Notices.
