Dear Licensing Board Members:

In the Board's " Remainder of Order Following Prehearing Conference,"

dated May 13, 1981, the Board ordered the Staff to " serve on each of the pari.ie and Board a copy of all portions of the testimony before the ACRS relating to the seismicity of the Summer site and all reports submitted to the ACRS regarding seismicity." Order at 5.

Transcripts of the subcenmittee and full ACRS committee meetings, held February 26-27 and March 12-14, 1981, respectively, are enclosed. The Board and parties should have copies of the Staff's Safety Evaluation Report and Applicant's Final Safety Analysis Report considered by the ACRS in reachings its position on site seismicity.

See letter report from J. Carson Mark, ACRS, to Chairman Hendrie, dated March 18, 1981 (SER Supplement No. 1, Appendix D). All other pertinent correspondence from the Applicant to the Staff on the subject of seismicity which was not incorporated into the FSAR was provided as part of the Applicant's prefiled testimony of May 28, 1981.

The letter from J. Devine, USGS, to R. Jackson, NRC, referenced in the ACRS letter report, dated December 30, 1980, was provided as Appendix E to the SER. The referenced memorandum from A. Murphy, NRC, to R. Jackson, NRC, dated February 6,1981, accompanied the Staff testimony filed on May 28, 1981. References 5 and 6 to the ACRS letter consisting of written coments by two members of the general public were bound into the transcript of the subcommittee meeting.

Enclosed herewith are the following additional documents ;upplied to the ACRS: a memorandum from Paul Boehnert, Staff Engineer, to the ACRS, dated March 10, 1981, enclosing copies of the written comments of the Subcommittee's seismic consultants; a March 12, 1981 memorandum from Mr. Boehnert to the ACRS containing the coninents of Dr. Trifunac regarding plant seismicity; and a copy of a letter and attached report from David W. Simpson to Dr. Phylis Sd;el, dated January 18, 1980, regarding studies of induced seismicity at Lakes Jocassee and Keowee in South Carolina.
