Dear Sir:
[. s 4e It has been nearly two years now since the ace
.stu %:
Three Mile Island nuclear station.
There have been countless testimonies and endless discussions and yet your regulatory commission is still holding up the decision to restart the undamaged plant.
The nanagement of General Public Utilities Corporation has asked you f or permission to restart the plant without any further delay but they have heard nothing from you.
The company is in severe financial dif ficulties, partly due to having to purchase outside electricity for custcmers that ordinarily would be serviced by the shut-down plant.
The utility cocmissioners are also responsible due to the fact that they reduced the rate that GPU could charge the customers.
They have used the so-called " accident" which killed or injured no one, as an excuse to lower the rates, claiming that the removal of the nuclear plant from operation justified them in reducine the rates even though GPU purchased outside electricity and kept supplying cne customers at much greatez expense to the cotecany.
I have my life's savings invested in GPU stock.
I have already lost over $10,000.00 in dividends alene since the accid 6nt.
Due mostly to the non-payment of dividends, GFU stock is worth only about twenty cents of the original dollar value.
For the cast year, we stockholders have had to supply electricity to the customers just as an accommodation.
With interest rates at an all-time high we stockholders are not re-ceiving one penny from our huge investments.
This rid iculous and un-called fol-situation must not be allowed to continue.
You can do your part by cutting short those testimonies and discussions which have been going on for the past two years and give the go-ahead for re-starting the un-damaged pla nt.
I have written your office before without rerult.
Please i
give this urgent matter your prompt consideration.
