Dear Mr. Semmel:

I am enclosing Consumers Power Company's response to Interrogatory 7-3 of Set II of your clients' interrogatories in the above-captioned proceeding, together with the documents indicated to be enclosed.

In your clients' request for answers to interrogatories, it was requested that we answer each question in four parts, the third of which was:

C.

Identify and provide all documents and studies, and the particular parts thereof, examined but not relied upon by the Licensee, which pertain to the subject matter in question.

We have interpreted this request as meaning those documents and studies examined by Licensee in preparing responses to these interrogatories.

This interpretation is consistent with Item B, which requests that the studies and documents relied upon as a basis for the answer be identified and provided.

It may be useful to summarize the status of Consumers Power Company's response to your interrogatories which are designated as Set II.

Consumers Power Company has objected tc Interrogatories 8-1 through 8-4.

All other interrogatories addressed to the various contentions and potential contentions have been answered, except for Interrogatories 2-ic, 7-2b, 8-Sa, b, c, 9-3a, b, and 9-12a.
